Welcome to Citizen Lily – I’m Lily and I’m pumped you’re here!

Graphic design is my trade and my general love for design is what encouraged me to start this blog. My hope is for this blog to be a continual source of inspiration to help you, and many others, live a life well designed. Although I want to ensure that this blog comes from a place of honesty and will, therefore, be embracing the beautiful art of wabi-sabi. Re: celebrating those messy moments, those stretch marks, and those unmade beds. 

You can expect to see me sharing tasty recipes, rounding up my favorite home products, or providing you with a travel guide to a new city. I intend for Citizen Lily to be an inclusive space that provides content that connects with all walks of life.

In short, Citizen Lily is a lifestyle blog for all.

As for me, you may have picked up on the fact that I am a bit of a design nerd. I quickly become enveloped with a sort of “kid on Christmas morning” sensation when I see a beautifully composed photo, an elegantly staged bookshelf, or a perfectly functional product. Although I feel my identity is heavily rooted in design, I do have other interests that will become more evident as this blog evolves. 

I live in a beautiful old apartment in Raleigh, North Carolina with my boyfriend, Jonathan. I grew up about 20 minutes down the road and have lived in the area my entire life, except for a brief stint abroad in Florence, Italy. Jonathan and I are a coffee-obsessed. You will usually find us making an iced pour-over (no matter how cold it gets outside), or at a local coffee shop enjoying a cortado. Crafting, cooking, and tending to my houseplants are all forms of therapy for me.
