Valentine’s Day Gifts

I am secretly a Valentine’s Day lover. It might be the excuse to be extra girly, the hearts everywhere, or having a reason to focus on love. I can’t quite pinpoint it, but I always feel more excited than expected every time the holiday rolls around.

While I love this holiday, I don’t always love the cheesy gifts that come with the territory. Of course, you can’t go wrong with flowers – they’ll never be out of style. However, I would suggest avoiding the crappy chocolates and instead gifting your loved ones with something a little bit more special. This is not to say the only way to express your love should be through gifts, but if you are hard-pressed to find something for your loved one, I’ve got you covered! Check out some of my top gifts for Valentine’s Day.

1. Meri Meri
   Not only does this company have the perfect set of Valentine’s Day pins, but they also make the cutest party decor! Perfect for if you are staying home to celebrate the holiday this year like most of us will be.
2. Rise and Ramble
   I’ve only made a few gift guides and this point and Rise and Ramble has managed to make it on to every single one! The maker is based in NC and she creates the most gorgeous natural hand-dyed products. I am head over heels for these bamboo socks perfect for lounging or wearing with your favorite winter boots!
3. Even Keel
   I learned about this company from a local small business here in Raleigh and I am obsessed! I love this Expedition Set containing six different “shower fizzies”. Each one is packed with essential oils and could be dropped in your bath or placed at the bottom of your shower for a truly spa-like experience.
4. Bourbon and Thread
   This woman-owned business makes the perfect go-to leather clutches here in the U.S. They have limited offerings but every item is classic and timeless. Anyone would be lucky to have one of their items!
5. Mejuri
   Mejuri has been my go-to lately for classic, but elevated jewelry. They offer a variety of jewelry at various price points so you can find something whether you’re looking to splurge or save. All of their items are beautifully made and packaged and are sure to make the perfect gift. Opt for a classic piece like the Charlotte Bold Ring shown above.
6. Whiskey and Wine
   Looking for something more casual? Check out Whiskey and Wine for great jewelry, hair, and home accessories! I was originally drawn to this shop for their playful earrings but in recent years, the shop has expanded its offerings to include acetate hair accessories and the most beautiful trays. I have a very hard time not buying it all for myself.
7. Brooklyn Candle Studio
   Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with candles as a gift for any occasion. Brooklyn Candle Studio makes some of the most heavenly scented candles and I have truly loved all that I’ve purchased. I tend to prefer more subtle, earthy scents so I would suggest something classic like Santal or Fern and Moss.
8. Palermo
   Indulgent skincare – sign me up! If you’re looking for something along the lines of “treat yo self”, look no further than Palermo Body. I have only tried the Coffee Body Scrub and one of their clay masks (which were both perfection), but I have heard rave reviews of all of their products. Spoil your loved one with some self-care!
9. Melanie Abrantes Designs
   Is your loved one a homebody? Yeah, me too. I have had my eye on these stunning, hand-carved wooden vases for a while and can’t seem to shake the feeling that I have to have one. They are so simple yet perfect. Melanie offers an eclectic selection of both wood and cork pieces and they are all to die for.
10. Escazu Chocolates
    Well, you didn’t think I could make a Valentine’s Day gift guide and not include chocolate, did you? Instead of your drug store chocolate box, opt for supporting a local chocolate shop instead! Escazu Chocolate here in Raleigh is always a good idea and these brilliantly colored heart pieces are just too good to pass up.
